CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
KCSM Nuevo Laredo interim and long term improvement program including the conceptual design of the 26 KM East Rail Bypass, the new international railroad bridge, corridor confinement of existing line “B” reconfiguration and relocation of existing (cargo, import, export) yards to the new Sanchez yard outside Nuevo Laredo.

RAILROAD TRACKS:
DOUBLE MAINLINE TRACKS: Assisted the KCSM with studies and detailed engineering services to build a 6 mile double track segment that included 3.4 miles of new track construction and 2.6 miles of track rehabilitation upgrade to meet class one standards. Project included eight drainage structure extensions, three grade crossings and five industry track re-configuration projects. Our services also included permitting and bidding documents and technical support during construction.
YARDS:
As part of the KCSM speed increase program GDR was selected as the engineering contractor for the reconfiguration of Saltillo (Coahuila), Nuevo Laredo (Tamaulipas) & San Lorenzo (Veracruz) yards to improve their structural and geometry track conditions. These were high complexity/difficulty projects since the original yards were not designed to meet the new speed standard.
HONDA 4EM Automotive & Intermodal Terminal, Celaya México: As subcontractors to Transdevelopment Group and its Méxican affiliate Transdevelopment México, GDR Consultoria has participated in the detailed design road beds for KCSM and FXE connections, intermodal and support yard earthworks and drainage and intermodal yard pavements.

LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT TRACKS
Metrorrey: As sub-contractors to Gutierrez Ingenieros SA de CV / SIEMENS Transportation Systems AG (Germany) we developed basic and detailed design packages for 4.5 Mile double slab track (direct fixation technology) extension of Metrorrey transits system Line 2 and for San Bernabe yard track expansion. Our assignment included the preparation of track detailed geometric design as well as construction specifications and other procurement and inspection documents for track materials.
STRATEGIC & MASTER PLANNING
NAFTA Multimodal Corridors Project: We assisted Monterrey Business Consultants and the North American International Trade Corridor Partnership (NAITCP) in several meeting with US and Mexico government and customs officials and other private industrial and transportation and logistics organization in order to prepare an initiative for a “Master Development Strategy” to implement a multimodal corridor network in Mexico for the NAFTA rail. Our services included technical assistance for defining project scope and methodology studies and strategic planning. We also served providing technical assistance to the NAITCP executive director in meeting with US-Mexico government officials including the US Trade and Development Agency (US-TDA) preparing documentation and providing technical assistance to secure a TDA funding grant for the project. Due to the solid technical base and skillful strategic planning, this project was successfully presented and approved and has been awarded by SCT and the US-TDA
